The Taj Mahal created in the Minecraft game is surprisingly similar to the real one

The Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. While countless artists have painted the structure on their canvases, did you know that a gamer built it in Minecraft, the video game? On Instagram, a page titled “Build The Earth” shared photos of the Taj Mahal created in the game by Daniel, one of their team members. But the white marble mausoleum that Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal is not the only icon that the “Build The Earth” team designed in a 1: 1 scale. Minecraft.

We’ll get to that in a few moments, but first, let’s shed more light on what Daniel created. In a seven-slide article, the team shared seven different images of the Taj Mahal and its adjacent structures. The trees in and around the Taj Mahal compound are surprisingly similar to reality.

Other iconic structures that the same team built on Minecraft include the Umayyad Mosque in the Syrian capital Damascus, San Marco, Venice, Italy, and the town hall in Milwaukee, United States.

The ‘Build The Earth’ community has approximately 227,000 members and their work has also been shared and praised on Twitter.

On June 23, a Twitter account shared photos of the Taj Mahal they built and people on the microblogging site were in awe of how it was put together.

On the website, the creators said their mission is to recreate planet Earth in a 1: 1 scale. “One block in Minecraft is roughly one meter in the real world, which means this project will fully recreate the size of our planet,” they said. Anyone can join the team and help build what the video game company describes as “the biggest and most extensive construction project ever attempted in Minecraft.”
