This year’s E3 is now underway and, as usual, Microsoft’s Xbox presentation is one of the first to kick off. Among many other game reveals and announcements, a new Minecraft game was unveiled during this presentation.
During the Xbox E3 2019 briefing, a new game called Minecraft: Dungeons was revealed, which is made by the same team that worked on the original Minecraft. Unlike the original game, this new game isn’t so much about crafting as it takes a more action-adventure approach, all about taking on dungeons with friends. While actual details on the game are scarce, the game appears to focus on action-adventure gameplay with an asymmetrical top-to-bottom visual style and will allow various items to be equipped, each with their own stats and abilities, adding an RPG flavor to the gameplay. The game will also feature a strong multiplayer component, as it will allow local and online four-player co-op.
It seems that the Minecraft the team has their hands full, as they also recently announced Minecraft Land, an upcoming mobile AR game on smart phones. Minecraft: Dungeons will be released on Xbox One and PC and is expected to launch next spring.
