FANS will be able to play a new version of Among Us, created especially for virtual reality in less than a month.
The fan-favorite party game has been recreated in virtual reality with 3D models of the popular teammates.
In the original game, teammates had to complete tasks aboard a ship as quickly as possible.
At the same time, some players have been assigned the role of impostors who must assassinate teammates before they can complete all tasks.
After a body is discovered, a meeting is called in which the teammates and imposters discuss who they think the imposters are.
The team then decides to have one party member eject from the ship, removing them from play.
Played in first person, Imposters will now have to approach victims in 3D space in order to assassinate them.
The tasks that teammates have to complete around the spaceship have also been redone for the new VR version.
New tasks have also been developed specifically for the VR version.
In meetings where you discuss who you think the impostor is, you will also be able to see the movements of other players sitting at a round table.
This will bring a whole new layer to fool your teammates.
The new game, simply called Among Us VR, will be cross-play, so no matter what headset you or your friends are using, you’ll be able to play together.
Currently, the game is compatible with Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, and Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headsets.
Among Us VR is slated for November 10, and it will need to be purchased separately from the original 2D board game.
The VR version requires four to ten players to play a game, and each player will need a VR headset.
Despite the high barrier to entry, this 3D version will make Among Us more immersive than ever, and fans are excited to try out the new version.
