The “Roblox” social gaming platform is the biggest source of iPhone gaming revenue with $ 3 million in revenue per day, and Apple gets 30% of that.

“Roblox” is a popular mobile game that allows users to download and participate in “experiences”. These experiences can vary from small levels or challenges to entire game worlds within the “Roblox” app.

Based on data from Finbold, “Roblox” has positioned itself as the main generator of revenue on mobile platforms. Customers purchase an in-app currency called “Robux” to exchange in-game items or costumes.

This simple model drove gamers to spend more money on “Roblox” than any other mobile game in 2021. As of June, the top ten top-grossing iPhone games on the App Store generated $ 11.2 million in revenue. per day, and “Roblox” is $ 3 million of that.

Second far in the revenue generation is “Clash of Clans” at $ 1.8 million, followed by “Candy Crush Saga” at $ 1.4 million. The total revenue calculated for each game includes the purchase price of the game and in-app purchases.

Roblox recently went public and grossed $ 387 million in revenue. This number is a combination of gross revenue from Apple’s App Store, Android Marketplace, other digital retailers, and Robux purchased through physical outlets.

Thanks to Apple’s 30% stake on every in-app purchase made on the platform, “Roblox” generates approximately $ 900,000 per day for the company. This income alone may be enough for Apple to ignore some of “Roblox” flaws, including changing its description from “games” to “experiences” to avoid Apple’s scrutiny.

This success replaces the void left by the previous precursor on mobile platforms, “Fortnite”. After Epic Games broke App Store rules and removed “Fortnite” from Apple platforms, a void was left in mobile games. It seems that “Roblox” has become the first income on iPhone thanks to its social aspects and integrated shopping ecosystem.
